| John Bridges (S57-66) has compiled a new book on Framlingham |

"Framlingham : A Tour Through Time" is a new photo book published by The Lanman Museum looks at Framlingham between the 1880s and 1920s. There are over 150 images, with photos produced from the original glass plate negatives of John Self (1887-1893) along with invoices from the James Breese (1874-75) Collection.
The book is available from Framlingham Bookshop and D.C. Patrick newsagents on the Market Hill, Bill Bulstrode’s and the Library in Bridge Street and the Post Office in Riverside, price £12. Enquiries to John at framww2@gmail.com

| Framlingham Railway Line |

| Wizard of New Zealand may have new role |

The Christchurch City Council recently terminated its contract with the Wizard of Christchurch, to take effect in December 2021. For more than 20 years OF Ian Brackenbury Channell (42-45) QSM has been on its payroll, the job expectation being that the wizard ‘‘provide acts of wizardry for the city and other wizardry like services’’ for at least one hour a day.
A retired Dunedin lawyer has now proposed that that Christchurch's loss should be Dunedin's gain. You can read the whole story by clicking here.

| Adriana Concin to deliver Courtauld Institute Lecture |

The launch of the OF Society of The Arts has been held-up by the delayed development of the new OF Website, but here’s a nice example of the sort of thing the new Society might promote. Adriana Concin (Moreau 2006-9) recently completed her doctoral studies at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
Her research interests lie in sixteenth-century Habsburg and Medici collecting, cultural exchanges between Tuscany and the Holy Roman Empire, and female patronage networks. On Mon, 17 January 2022 (17:00 – 18:30 GMT) she will lecture on “Florence and the Holy Roman Empire in the Sixteenth Century” – her talk will trace the diverse artistic connections created and sustained between Florence and the Holy Roman Empire’s ruling elites, and will be Livestreamed for Free.

| Framlingham College Bursary Campaign Update |

Martin Myers-Allen, the College’s Development Director (and Hon OF) reports: “We officially launched the Campaign in October at the SOF Suffolk Supper, but the word was out well before then. Transforming people’s lives through 100% means-tested bursaries at sixth form has clearly appealed to a wide audience. We have already exceeded the figure we need to support two pupils for two years in September 2022 and projections for 2024 are also encouraging. I just want to write a huge thank you to all those who have given so far. This has to be a living campaign and to give it the longevity it deserves please continue to support. If you haven't given thus far...please do. | Overseas Bag 2021 - full version now available |

Chris Essex (K69-75) writes: The 2021 Framlinghamian will be published online later today. As usual it will contain a heavily edited version of all the news and photos I have received over the last year from OFs around the world. For your Christmas reading I have now published the full version of the Overseas Bag for 2021 in the People section of the website. This full edition runs to 29 pages distilled from over 250 emails received/sent over the last year. It will be emailed to all overseas OFs in the next few days. As you will see, this edition starts off with an appeal from me for someone to come forward to take over the Overseas Bag. Its really enjoyable keeping in touch.

Who knows what 2022 will bring now we have the Omicron variant spreading rapidly but I earnestly hope we will see an increased number of reunions being organised around the world. | The Framlinghamian goes digital once again |

Peter Howard-Dobson reports: A new format for The Framlinghamian, and the breadth of its coverage, resulted in a remarkable 320 page book. Sadly, a massive increase in printing and postage costs has made it simply too expensive to circulate a physical book to SOF members. The good news is that the digital version, published here, is magnificent as well as being easy to navigate. When you open the book to full-screen, flip through to the Index, where you’ll find a button that will take you straight to the OF Section.
Louise North, Principal of Framlingham College, says:
“We are delighted to share with you this year’s Framlinghamian. You will see that the Framlinghamian has a fresh look to represent both the modernity of Vision 2025 and how different a Framlingham College education is. The Framlinghamian is remaining digital and will be shared far and wide with everyone in our global community.
