James Ruddock-Broyd represented the Society of Old Framlinghamians in the year of the 70 Anniversary of the secret Raid on Amiens Prison led by Gp Capt P C “Percy” Pickard (G26-32) who led the raid on 18 February 1944 and in whose memory there had been a pilgrimage to his grave at Amiens in April. James was also present in his capacity as serving at a former “Y” Station and attending RAF “Y” Service at Chicksands Priory.

Air Vice-Marshal Simon Dougherty RAF Retd, former Director-General Medical Services (RAF), attended in his role as the Honorary Air Commodore of No 4626 (County of Wiltshire) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force. Peter Bailey (K34-38) - read his amazing biography
WINGCOMMANDERGEORGEPETERBRETTBAILEYK34-38 - photo with Jenifer
Chris Essex writes : I was fortunate enough to meet up with Peter Bailey (K34-38) in his house when I visited Australia with my family in August 2011. Having included him in the distinguished “Service” section of the website some time before I was aware of his amazing life and this was amplified when I saw the contents of his house and particularly the study. At the time I encouraged him to document his life and I’m delighted to say that working with Jenifer Simpson OAM this has now been published.

We are very grateful to both Peter and Jenifer for allowing us to publish the complete biography on the SOF website via this link. The biography starts on page 3 and includes some amazing picture as well. I strongly encourage you to read it.

I very much look forward to meeting up with Peter again in the Hunter Valley in April 2015 to mark 150th anniversary of the College and 100th anniversary of the ANZACs in Gallipoli.
