Laurie will be fondly remembered as a passionate and inspirational Headmaster. He was much more than just a figurehead at the College, he was the very beating heart of it. Not only did he know every pupil by name, but was familiar with their individual academic progress and sporting achievements. Pupils would always acknowledge him as a fair character who could instill discipline where required, but always had kind words of encouragement for all. He carried enormous respect within the College walls, and far beyond its boundaries during his career. I hold great admiration for a man who worked tirelessly, achieved so much and cared greatly about everything he did. Above all, there's no greater testament to a man who treated us all as if we were his own family, at Framlingham.
