Harold Austin Malcolm Kingwell
1916-2010
When Harold left Framlingham he joined his father in the meat business in London eventually becoming a Director of Colonial a meat importer. He became a member of the Worshipful Company of Butchers and a Freeman and Liveryman of the City of London.
Apart from his family his great love was masonry and he was initiated into Taurus Lodge in the City in January 1939 at the age of 22. He became Master in 1946.
Harold was a founder member of the Old Framlinghamian Lodge, which was consecrated in April 1948, and became Master in 1951. He achieved London Grand Rank in 1959 and in 1970 was appointed Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in the United Grand Lodge of England. He was honoured to be among the six members of the Grand Lodge of England invited to the bi-centenary celebrations of the Grand Lodge of Austria. Harold was the sole remaining founder member at the Golden Jubilee of the Old Framlinghamian Lodge in 1998.
