Brian Kent Hunter
1916-2009
Brian was a Foundation Scholar and when he left Framlingham in 1935 he went on to Queens College, Cambridge to read law, gaining his BA in 1938. Having served in the Army for the duration of the war it was not until after the war that he completed his Articles at Law. He then joined a firm of solicitors in Haslemere, Burley and Geach, where he remained until his 80th birthday.
Brian had a lifelong interest in music which was kindled at Framlingham by Mr Barnicott, Brian being his only organ pupil. Mr Barnicott had himself been a pupil of a distinguished organist Sir Herbert Brewer. Brian continued his interest in many ways, as an organist, chorister, as Hon Legal Advisor to the Organist’s Benevolent League and as Hon Secretary to the Surrey Organist’s Association. He was also Legal Advisor to the Alzheimers Society from 1979 to 1986.
