Denis David SEYMOUR

1931 – 2007

A tribute by his brother Graham:

Three brothers Tony, Denis and Graham were born in Abridge, Essex and were all educated at Framlingham.

Denis excelled, especially at sport, breaking a number of athletic records, notably the quarter mile with a gasp and a flourish.

When Denis left school he wanted to go on the stage but, alas, circumstances decreed otherwise and he decided to farm, eventually acquiring Bales Farm in Normandy near Guildford. Whilst he was training in Dorset he met his wife to be Mary whom he married in 1959. They had three children, two girls and one boy.

His first venture was into arable farming then into dairy farming with a herd of Dairy Shorthorns and later into Jerseys. During milking Denis serenaded his cows with his tenor voice.

Denis was hard working – very supportive – very kind – and generous of spirit and will be missed in so many ways.
