John Edward Brett (Jack) BAILEY
1919-2005
Brother Peter writes:
On leaving Framlingham in 1936 Jack completed an engineering apprenticeship with Ransomes and Rapiers in Ipswich before enlisting in the RAF at the outbreak of the Second World War. He served for much of the war on the India / Burma front.
On being released from the RAF in 1946 he joined Jessops of Dum Dum, Calcutta, where he was engaged for some twenty years on many construction sites building dams. On returning to the UK he worked for Alcan UK until he retired to live in Kent.
Jack is survived by three daughters and grandchildren.
