Robin John HOLLOWAY

Died on 28th January 2005 aged 30. Brother of Anna Holloway (M89-92). He leaves his wife Joanne and son Nicholas. Among O.F.s attending the funeral was Matthew Harding (87-90).

Born in a Royal Air Force hospital in Wegberg, Germany to Group Captain and Marion Holloway, Robin came to Framlingham during a childhood of many homes due to his father’s many service placements. With a talent for acting and music, particularly the flute, Robin played a series of major parts in school productions and, in addition, was a keen sportsman, excelling at athletics. While at school he became a Suffolk Junior Champion for the High Jump.

With the encouragement of his father, and the Air Section at Framlingham, he went solo in a glider soon after his 16th birthday. He went on to fly gliders with the R.A.F. Gliding and Soaring Association and gained the award of a “Silver C” Gliding certificate. Persisting with his theatrical talents he gained a BA (Hons.) in Theatre Arts at Bretton College, Leeds University. He acted with various touring companies until the birth of his son when he then to became Training Manager for First Locate in Leeds.

Devoted to his wife Joanne and son Nicholas his untimely death has robbed his family and friends of a young man of many talents and lively humour.
