Brian was in the second of three generations of the Church family to attend Framlingham, being preceded by his uncle Arthur (R 20-22) and father Douglas (R21-24). He then joined his father, uncle, cousins and later his brother in the family firm, Church of Bures, which had been founded by his grandfather in 1902.
In 1961 Brian and Liz married and soon Robert and Penny were added to the family. Robert continues the family firm with his cousin Timothy.
Brian was a keen sportsman and in later life always enjoyed the country sports of fishing and shooting. His business and social life made him many friends, and it is a measure of the esteem and respect that he gained throughout his life that almost five hundred people attended a service of thanksgiving in St. Mary’s and St. Michael’s Church, Mistley on 13th April 2005. Apart from the family, O.F.s attending the service were B. Evans, J. Buck, D. Holland, N. Mayhew, I. Lowe, D. Mead, P. Schwier, G. Lennox, P. Alcoe and T. Tacon.
