Cherrie ALLSOP

Mrs Cherrie Allsop. Those with Brandeston Hall connections in the 50’s and 60’s will be saddened to hear of the death of Cherrie Allsop, latterly Head Matron at the Junior School. As mother of Dick Middleton (S‘56-‘61) and grandmother of James (S’78-‘87) and Charles (S ‘83-’91) she always maintained a keen interest in the school. Cherrie and her second husband, Wg Cdr Harold Allsop continued to live in Brandeston and were well known figures within the village community. Her final visit to the school was on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee in 1998, a day which she greatly enjoyed. Cherrie died in June of this year at the great age of 94.
