The Noticeboard is now discontinued and will be phased out sometime in 2003.

Please post messages to the Forum.
November 2002. Nigel Benson R72-77 says: "I was overjoyed to see the Channel 4 feature on Fram Coll. When I was at school it was rather dull and mostly girl-less. The most exciting anyone could think of doing was playing hockey or other games. I am delighted to see that there have been girls there for some time and that the place has really changed. I feel the Society mag should have a Christian section seeing that it has a Masonic section, and that this should feature in the magazine. I am existing well in Woking. See my website to see what I get up to www.bzcathlinks.org.uk." E-Mail pedbikcan@yahoo.co.uk.
October 2002. David Lowe S66-68 says: "I must be getting old, as I can't put faces to several of my contemporaries' names! As with my RN colleagues, it's easier to remember those "senior" to oneself. Would like to hear from/about R J (Big Sam) Slade - we shared a passion for motor-bikes and, as day-boys, both had our own (which did upset housemaster JW a few times!) - Bryn Jones (still in the RN), Nick Burt, "Greeb" Ward (friend of brother Rod) and all from that era (the Hare & Hounds and Railway Inn crowd, the 2nd XV and Haymakers cricket team). Susi and I live in Somerset, near Weston-super-Mare (M5 J21) and would be pleased to see (or hear from) anyone who's passing or works in Bristol (Filton/Abbey Wood/UWE area). More info in my Friends Reunited entry for 1968." E-Mail david@chezlowes.com.
September 2002. Phil Bower G70-74 says: "I'm particularly interested in hearing from: Charlie Blackmore (how's your back?), Simon Caine, J st J Mehta, Simon Perry, Cyril Fletcher (I still want your Arsenal soccer shirt!), Pete Long, John Beverley (remember the archeology dig?), Dave Hansell (I've been keeping an eye out for you!), James Barry (Leicester City FC??) Festus Foster (!) Gerkin Gardner, Ngozi Ofili, Dan Libby-Mills (my face has recovered from the beating!) and anyone else who remembers those heady days from the Rimmer era - when I read your name your face will return to me. I'm now living in Australia with my wife and would love to hear from those of us who smoked, drank and skipped off without being caught!! Them wuz the days!!" E-Mail shazam@ihug.com.au.

September 2001. I hope that none of you have relations or colleagues caught up in the horrific terrorist attack on New York and Washington on 11 September 2001. One OF, Desmond Bishop R72-77, had a narrow escape:

"I work at the Amex World Financial Center, the brown building you see still standing on the right of most TV snap-shots, close to the river. On 11 Sept my shift was 9.30am to 5.30pm - needless to say I surfaced from the Subway at approx. 9.05am only to hear the screams from the horror of the second jet hitting one of the towers. I waited around for half-an-hour too long, never believing the tower would collapse--it did a little after 10am directly toward me (at least that's the way it seemed ) and I was running for my life. Stay well...life is good!"

July 2001. Ann Hogarth V85-87 wrote to say her new website: www.annhogarth.com is up and running. I am specialising in natural science illustration, which means detailed & physiologically accurate pictures of plants and animals, with a very high degree of detail. The scans don't do the pictures justice, so we added a couple of close-up sections to try and illustrate the detail - so people can understand the size of the brushstrokes - often tenths of a millimetre wide to produce birds feathers, frogs skin etc. Please have a look for me and let me know if you have any feedback or perhaps a commission!. My email address is now ann@annhogarth.com (the old one ann_hogarth@hotmail.com still remains active as well).
July 2001. To Ruth Elwood P80-84 and Andy, a son, Henry Francis, 9lb 11oz (what a whopper!) born on Friday 13th July; Mum and baby are doing fine.
