UPDATE Ben & Will would like to say a big thank you to all the OFs that have sponsored them. All together, they have raised £33,000 for the charity Hunts Community Cancer Network so far. Here is a photo of 'Team Kim', who all completed the Great Eastern Half Marathon on Sunday. Many OFs ran and supported on what was a fantastic day!
If any other OFs would still like to donate, see links below.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Ben (R96-06) and Will Hayes (R93-03) write : "We thought it might be of interest to the OF Society to let you know that a large group of OFs are running together in a half marathon called 'The Perkins Great Eastern Run' for charity on Sunday 11 October in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. We would also like to ask if you could help us gain awareness amongst other OFs."
Their father died of prostate cancer in April 2015. Click Read more for further details if you would like to support them.

| Haileybury Hockey Sixes |

Once again Josh Cutting (G97-09) got together a small number of OFs to enter a hockey team in this competition. He reports as follows :"Great Day with good hockey in glorious weather. Only difficulty, which indirectly affected us was the last minute non-appearance of RGS Guildford which meant altering matches and Pools which delayed the Programme.
The standard was high and the semi finals were between St Edwards v Framlingham and Haileybury v Tonbridge. The final was won by St Edwards against Tonbridge. Unfortunately we had to get back and were unable to participate in the play off for 3/4th places. St Edwards had a really strong team including two University players and were hardly tested scoring a hatful of goals. The umpiring worked out well and all seemed to enjoy the day. Sadly Seaford had last minute difficulty in completing a side and withdrew in the last week."
The OF team consisted of James Ince (gk) (R02-08), Olly Cutting (G95-07), Tom Dunnett (R07-09), Josh Cutting (G97-09), Ben Gowing (R04-09) and Sean Collins (G99-09).

| Postscript to ANZAC Anniversary Dinner |
Last Updated: Monday, 5 October 2015
|
At the Commemorative Dinner in the Hunter Valley, Australia in April 2015, Mike Garnett (53-55) told us about a fascinating story that has an unusual Framlingham/ANZAC association. We thought we would share this with all OFs. The speech he gave and the presentation he and Chris Shaw (K51-56) made at the end of the dinner are included this article which also gives details of the life size statue Mike was responsible for organizing near his home town in Victoria, Australia.
The statue that was presented to the SOF President now resides in the Headmaster’s study and has become quite a talking point for prospective new parents!

David Turnbull, OFGS Hon. Sec. writes: “The day following the Autumn meeting at Aldeburgh there was the annual match against Aldeburgh Golf Club. It was keenly contested with our hosts Aldeburgh once again coming out on top. Clearly home advantage had told once more, but the match was much closer than the result suggests with three games being decided in home favour by a single hole.

The meeting was held in bright sunny conditions on Friday, 11th September at Aldeburgh Golf Club. They were looked after superbly as usual by the host club and enjoyed playing on a course in excellent condition. The lunch was even more enjoyable than usual as Norman Porter, organiser of the winning Runyard Trophy team, had brought along a double magnum of fine claret which had been presented to them on the previous Monday at Thetford GC.
