He lived a long life considering in the 1950s he was always complaining bitterly about the East Anglian winds getting into his bones and joints! I still remember his incredulity at my passing O level history when his star pupil in my class failed (name with held!)

This is indeed sad news. Known to us all at that time as HO from his frequent reference to SOHO and its environs!

I was his regular bicycle tyre pumper-upper. He said he was so grateful for my services that he\'d remember me in his will. I wonder!

He tried to teach me history but both he and I gave up on that one. I remember him with fond memories.
