I remember many years ago (1987 or1988) in Hong Kong we held an OF Dinner in a private room at Bentley\'s Restuarant which was managed by an OF, Rupert Chenevix-Trench. Present, as I remember were Ian Howard, myself, Brian Williams, Jeremy Simpson, Charles Micklewright, Richard Rowe and a few other names which escape me. After the main course was finished Brian Williams, who was Resident Manager of The Mandarin Oriental Hotel (Hong Kong\'s finest!), excused himself as he was required to greet a VIP Guest arriving shortly. When asked who might his VIP Guest be he informed the assembled company that it was the famous Australian Wine Buff .. Len Evans. Charles Micklewright immediately commented that said Mr Evans was in fact an OF. Without further ado, Brian Williams was despatched to The Mandarin with instructions to bring Mr. Evans to join the assembled OFs as soon as he had checked in. The two of them arrived about 20 minutes later and the rest of the evening was spent lubricating Mr Evans (and ourselves) and listening to his tales of life at Fram in his day. Quite a character .. so sad to hear of his passing.
