Nick Whitehead (K2006-11) has contacted Hon Sec Norman Porter with the latest news of preparations for the U21 Old Boys Rugby Tournament at Richmond RFC on Bank Holiday Monday.
He has an impressively long list of names of people who have expressed interest. The maximum squad size is 21, so he has to be sure of exactly who is available.
Nick comments: “This looks to be a fairly strong squad that I'm looking forward to working with again. I arrive back on the 22nd August and will immediately try and organise a training session. I'll also look at potential accommodation for the night after the tournament so we can try and have a social event in the evening.”
He very much hopes that there will be plenty of non-playing support. It should be a great day, with up to 48 teams playing and representing a wide range of top schools. The games are 15-a-side, 15 minutes each way, and the formula is Knock-Out, but with various Plate etc competitions.
