The OFGS team played with St Lawrence at Knole Park Golf Club, Sevenoaks in the South East regional qualifying round on Saturday 14 May. The team of Gavin Cowell, Charlie Plunkett, Alex Cameron, Robin Anderton, Michael Spencer and Martin Lamb scored 73 points, only failing to qualify by 3 points for the knock out stages. The stars of the team, with an excellent score of 28 points, were Michael, a late call up, and Martin.
The format of scratch foursomes off the back tees on a testing course is quite a challenge and it is hoped that the OFGS will be able to put out a younger and stronger team next year and possibly repeat the success of qualifying in 2007.
