| OF makes Maiden First Class Century |

A month ago we reported that Rob Newton (R2003-2008) had made his first class debut for Northamptonshire. He's now gone one better and scored his maiden first class century on 13 September 2010.

Original Article : Our intrepid OF Sports Co-Ordinator (Clive Smith) spotted news about Rob Newton (R2003-2008). “I noticed that Robert Newton made his County Championship debut for Northamptonshire last week in their win over Worcestershire at New Road, Worcester. He certainly acquitted himself well in both innings - 23 runs in the first and 33 runs in the second. In the first innings Northants were in a real mess at 16 for 4 when he came into bat so he helped steady the ship and they eventually turned the game round and won.”
