Chris Essex (K69-75) writes : Edward Marr (G85-92) was in touch a little while ago to say that he had really enjoyed the OF dinner in Hong Kong in March 2010.
He went on to mention that he had recently “starred “ in the Vietnam episode of Theo Paphitis’s Adventure Capatilist TV Show. Sadly its no longer available in full via BBC iPlayer, but this link starts off with a mention and picture of Edward and his goal of pushing new publications in Vietnam. Having watched the programme in full, I can honestly say that Edward comes across extremely well and Theo is very positive about what he is trying to achieve in Vietnam.

Edward says “Theo did say some nice things which was quite a surprise as at the time he was quite impartial and off camera was busy grilling me for much more details on our business. Filming it all was really interesting but not entirely pleasant – having a camera crew and director in your meetings telling you were to sit and asking you to repeat what you just said because a plane flew over is just not natural. Off camera we had some good evenings out with Theo and the crew, the food in Vietnam is some of the best in the region. The most fascinating thing was how the finish product editorialized what was essentially a set of un-connected meetings and tried to fit a narrative over what I do – not one that I entirely agree with but true from a certain point of view. All-in-all a good experience though.”
