A Thanksgiving & Memorial Service to celebrate his life was held in the Chapel of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, at 2pm on Thursday 4th February 2010. A full write up on those attending can be read here.

11 November 2009: It is with great sadness that we announce the death of one of our most distinguished OFs, General Sir Patrick Howard-Dobson GCB (R33-40) on Remembrance Sunday. He had been in hospital briefly, but was recovering well, when he had a gentle heart attack and died peacefully.
The following notice has appeared in the Telegraph “On Remembrance Sunday, 8th November 2009, peacefully after a short illness. Chorister, sportsman, soldier and endless volunteer, he leaves behind a large family proud of his many achievements. A Memorial Service will be arranged in due course. The funeral, for family and friends, will be held on Tuesday 24th November at 2 p.m., at St John the Baptist Church, Snape, Suffolk. Family flowers only, please, but donations are welcomed to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, c/o Tony Brown's Funeral Service, Saxmundham, Suffolk, IP17 1EH. Enquiries, tel: 01728 603108.”
