| Australia - Possible Queensland and Perth Suppers in 2005 |

***Stop Press *** SOF Brisbane gathering targeted for the United Services Club on Saturday 28th May 2005.
When Peter Simpson (K32-40) went on a recent P&O Princess cruise, he discovered his captain was Captain Nick Carlton (G63-70). When they then discovered that Nick will be in Brisbane for 3-weeks in May 2005 looking after his ship in dry-dock, near to Peter's home, talk turned to organising a gathering of OFs for a Queensland Supper. (Stop Press: 31 December 2004: It appears that Nick Carlton's cruises are becoming popular as John Gates S44-48 from Queensland, will also join one of his cruises on 15th January)
Similarly, Chris Bartlett (K60-66) had taken on the mantle of organising the next Perth OF gathering. Since Nick Carlton has relocated from UK to live at Secret Harbour, near Perth, Chris has suggested that this might be a good reason to get things in motion for another OF Perth Dinner.

John Gates (S44-48) sent the following message on 23 January 2005:
"Have just returned from our cruise to Noumea with our Grand Children. A very enjoyable time by all.
Met up with Cpt Nick Carlton on several occasions and visited the Bridge ( all of us ) 2 or 3 times. I was on the Bridge as we came down Bris River & whilst docking at 5am on 22nd Jan.
We are hoping to have an OF gathering at the United Services Club on Saturday 28th May. Final date to be confirmed. Hope that Neville Marsh, John Gates, Peter Bailey & Peter Simpson, Nick Carlton and wives will attend and any others that can make it. I will keep you informed nearer the time."
